Kids Yoga - 6 Week Series

Dearest Sōl Parents,

In an effort to simplify your schedule and support you getting your kids to yoga, we are now offering 6-week kids yoga series in the place of our existing weekly classes. Our hope is that you are able to find space in your calendar to allow your child(ren) to come and learn all about how the tools of mindfulness and yoga will help them in their day to day lives.

Look, we all know that life is hectic and overwhelming. Your children experience the same stress, worries and anxiety that you do. What would it be like to give them the tools - now - to handle life in a way that sets them up for more joy, more health, more ease? We want that for you and we know you want that for your kids. It’s never too early to learn these practices.

FAQ’s

Can I stay with my child?

YES!

Can my 2-year old attend?

Sorry, not yet.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just your sweet little one(s). We have mats and everything you’ll need.

I have 2 kids, is there a price-break?

YES! Choose the pass labeled “Kids Yoga - 6 Week Series - SIBLINGS”

What if my child cannot attend all 6 sessions?

We encourage you to clear your calendar so that they don’t miss any piece of this valuable curriculum.

Are make up sessions available?

If your child must miss due to illness, we will work with you to schedule a make-up session during our next series.

Can I get a refund for unused classes?

No refunds will be issued for the Kids Yoga series.

Each class is a blend of movement, yoga postures, breathing exercises, play and conversation. Take a peek at the curriculum.

Class 1 | Getting Focused

  • Students will learn strategies for quieting their minds and self-regulating.

  • Students will learn about their brain: prefrontal cortex, amygdala and hippocampus

Class 2 | Mindful Awareness

  • Students will learn how to attend to the here and now through mindful listening activities.

Class 3 | Focused Awareness

  • Controlling our breathing to help calm our body.

Class 4 | Mindful Listening

  • Students will participate in listening activities to help them choose which sounds to focus their attention on.

Class 5 | Mindful Seeing

  • Students will become increasingly attuned to observing details by slowing down and focusing their attention.

    Class 6 | Mindful Smelling

  • Students will use their sense of smell to be more aware of their environment.

Pamela Bonar holds a current South Dakota teaching certificate and is a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance.
