Relating is a complex matter, and one that requires ever expanding awareness, diligence and pursuit. As we see it, the intention must be to clear the past and to step into present relationships more grounded in reality and eager to contribute.

The Art of Relating - a follow up

September 20, 2018

For those who were able to be with us last weekend … Thank you for participating in “The Art of Relating” workshop. We are writing to express our deep appreciation for you. We applaud your courage and vulnerability that you embodied, shared, expressed, and created so brilliantly - together - it was truly the art of relating in practice. With that in mind, we hope that you gained insights and had an experience that supported connection, understanding and that further aligned you to your commitments, values and purpose in relationships.

As we explored, relating is a complex matter, and one that requires ever expanding awareness, diligence and pursuit. As we see it, the intention must be to clear the past and to step into present relationships more grounded in reality and eager to contribute. You now have the criteria for success to do just that.

We also trust that you now have a clear understanding of the radical distinction between winning versus connecting, as well as how to sabotage relationships versus how to create relationship success. The principles and practices that we explored are designed to support you aligning to your values, building rapport, and generating greater generosity in every relationship. Ultimately this is about becoming the person you want to be to attract the results that are most meaningful to you in relationships.

Gentle reminders:

Do not practice that which you do not want to become. This concept is exceptionally useful to pay attention to, it is almost certain that we will become our environment. Where, and with whom, we spend time is of paramount importance to track. It is highly probable you are blind in all sorts of ways. In fact, it’s virtually certain. So it is just more useful to consider, I am probably blind in many, many ways and maybe there are some ways that I can rectify that.

Consider your relationships as the practice ground in discernment and, in doing so, you create a developmental edge in yourself where you are undoing and rebuilding skills, ultimately sharpening your aim. As we aim at our values and our desired outcomes, this requires having our mind and emotions in order. As we do, we can then start acting that out and then extend the practice into all realms of life.

Manage what you tolerate and practice wholeheartedly with deep intention. Great relationships just don’t come naturally, they must be created, pursued, nurtured, and ultimately chosen. Often, in order for radical improvement to be made in relationships, we must do something that we may not want to do in order to progress - this is a common requirement. We wish you unwavering courage and focused aim on your pursuit of meaningful connections.

Swastha Yoga and Sōl Yoga Collective share a goal and a vision; to build and sustain a community that is connected more deeply, sharing more fully, and co-creating what’s next! We hope that you are eager to participate and be a part of our growing community – we want to share what’s happening within Swastha Yoga and we invite you to share your practice and engage with this community to support your growth and foster new connections.

We honor who you are, and thank you again for your trust.
